Main Practices
Shay Bar-Nir is a partner in the firm’s litigation & Dispute Resolution Department.
Mr. Bar-Nir specializes in insolvency proceedings, including liquidation and rehabilitation of companies and associations as well as formulating debt settlements, creditor settlements, and receiverships. Mr. Bar-Nir also serves as an officer in corporate liquidations and rehabilitation proceedings as well as a receiver. Mr. Bar-Nir represents creditors and officers of large publicly traded and privately held companies that, at the height of their operations, employed hundreds of employees but later found themselves in debt amounting to hundreds of millions of shekels.
Additionally, Mr. Bar-Nir has extensive experience litigating complex civil lawsuits, including lawsuits involving insolvency.
Mr. Bar-Nir is renowned for his broad knowledge of everything related to corporate insolvency. As a result, Mr. Bar-Nir is frequently recommended by the Commissioner of Insolvency Proceedings (previously, the Official Receiver) as an official for companies in a variety of sectors, including construction, real estate, industry, and high-tech.
Additionally, Mr. Bar-Nir represents a large number of clients who find themselves creditors of companies going through insolvency and given his in-depth knowledge of the field, assists them in maximizing their debt collection. Mr. Bar-Nir’s mastery of litigating civil proceedings before the courts enables him to manage complex court proceedings as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings, particularly those involving issues of insolvency.
As an example, Mr. Bar-Nir was appointed by the Chief Judge of the Tel Aviv District Court, the Hon. Judge Orenstein, as trustee for an entrepreneurial company that had accrued debts of tens of millions of shekels until the company was sold to a publicly traded company for an amount likely to come to more than 40 million shekels, and was further appointed as special manager of a number of high-tech companies; he has represented a leading defense industry company in seeking a stay of proceedings until the sale of its firefighting squadron to another company; he has represented companies in a large entrepreneurial group in contractor insolvency proceedings in which guarantees were exercised amounting to millions of shekels; and represents leading associations in Israel in rehabilitation proceedings through their recovery.
His clientele includes commercial corporations from all corners of the Israeli market, leading defense industry conglomerates, and some of the largest real estate and infrastructure companies in Israel.
Mr. Bar-Nir’s in-depth knowledge of insolvency law, coupled with his extensive experience in litigation, make him a top-tier attorney for even the most complex insolvency cases.
Mr. Bar-Nir joined the firm as a pre-intern in 2005 and made partner in 2014.
Mr. Bar-Nir is a member of the Israel Bar Association’s corporate liquidation and rehabilitation committee.
