Ministry of Transport decided: Milgam’s Acquisition of Israel Post Does Not Create a Conflict of Interest
Following Milgam Group’s win in the tender to acquire Israel Post, one of the other companies approached the Ministry of Transport, claiming that Milgam’s acquisition of Israel Post—given its ownership of TopCard—raises concerns of conflict of interest, harm to competition, and equality. These concerns, they argued, necessitate the cancellation of TopCard’s win in the tender.
After reviewing the matter, the Ministry of Transport informed TopCard that, in light of the explanations and legal arguments presented, it had been determined that under the circumstances, there is no concern of a conflict of interest. As such, it was decided to uphold TopCard’s win in the tender. Additionally, the Ministry decided that no sanctions would be imposed on TopCard.
