The media reported that a woman lost a “Ketubah” worth 18 million shekels. Is this accurate?

One should distinguish between an obligation to an amount that was not in the possession of the groom on the wedding day but was reasonably expected for the groom to accumulate over the years and pay in case of divorce – versus a hypothetical amount that is practically meaningless.
