Throughout his long and successful legal career, the late Michael Firon stood at the heart of our firm as a pillar of strength, steadily and faithfully guiding its gradual expansion and development from a small local law firm that came into existence shortly after the establishment of Israel into one of Israel's largest and most reputable law offices providing legal services to both local and foreign clients in Israel and abroad.
Born in Tel Aviv in 1923, Michael Firon grew up in Palestine and later graduated from the Mandatory Government of Palestine Legal Council in 1947, whereupon he was admitted to the Palestine bar. Before commencing his legal career however, Michael Firon was an active member in the "Palmah" (the Labor Zionist elite military organization) and played a part in the historic war of independence for the State of Israel. Michael Firon also qualified and practiced as an authorized Defense Counsel in the Military Courts in 1964.
In 1950, during the early part of his legal career, Michael Firon together with Jacob S. Shapiro, the first Attorney General of the State of Israel, founded a law firm that, under the devoted leadership of Michael Firon (after Adv. Shapiro’s subsequent departure to serve as the Minister of Justice in Levi Eshkol’s government) later expanded and evolved into the firm known today as M. Firon & Co.
Aside from pursuing a legal career Michael Firon also served for many years as chairman of the board of Israel Aerospace Industries.
Throughout his entire life, Michael Firon, remained deeply committed to the development and progress of the firm into the success that it is today and was an invaluable asset both professionally and personally – he will be greatly missed.
